Welcome to my website, and to my collection of paintings inspired by my love of animals and the natural world.  I am a professional artist living in rural Devon on the high ground between the Exmoor and Dartmoor National Parks - the Country of the Two Rivers made famous by Henry Williamson in his book "Tarka the Otter".   Otters are now well established in this area, and our cottage overlooks a magical wooded valley with a meandering brook where they can sometimes be seen.   Whether or not you are familiar with the many unspoilt places of the region my otter paintings will bring you up close to the reclusive world of these beautiful creatures.   My other paintings feature the livestock of the pastoral and moorland areas of North Devon, as well as cats, dogs and most things with fur or feathers.

A selection of my original paintings is currently available through a number of leading galleries in the UK, including the Steam Gallery at Beer and the Salar Gallery in Hatherleigh, Devon.  Some of my more recent work can be seen on my Gallery page.  I have also exhibited and sold at previous annual exhibitions held by the National Exhibition of Wildlife Art, and have had further pieces accepted for this year's exhibition.  At the time of updating I have sold "Playmates", one of my new charcoal drawings, at this year's preview, this piece also winning a David Cook drawing award.  I have also sold my wildcat "Something Stirred" (image below).   For the current state of play please follow this link to NEWA

***New originals*** - While most of my artwork is either sold or being exhibited, I do have some pieces which are not yet allocated and available to purchase through this site.  Further details on my Gallery page.

My range of open and limited edition prints is being gradually expanded as time - and inspiration - permit.  My latest additions include "Something Stirred" featuring the rare Scottish wildcat of which it is thought that only around 35 true examples are left in the wild.  To help the wildcats I will be donating 33% of the proceeds of the sale of this print to Wildcat Haven, a conservation project dedicated to providing a safe haven for the wildcats in the West Highlands of Scotland.  Full details can be found on my Prints page.

Bespoke quality portraits of that special four legged friend can be commissioned in oil or pastel, to include a photographic session if required.  Please refer to my Commissions page for further details.

When time permits I am available for private tuition by appointment, and I can also offer a consultancy service by e-mail along with a range of e-workshops.  Please have a look at my Tuition and E-mail Tuition pages if you are an artist who would be interested.
