Mary Oldham

Mary was born in Bedford, and grew up in a small village in the Bedfordshire countryside.  According to her mother she just about lived at the local riding stables, hence her love of animals.  She moved to Devon in 1980 with her husband and two daughters, where she started a nursery (plants, not children!),   She has always painted, but stopped for a while when her daughters were young, as they were always very helpful when it came to putting finishing touches to her pictures!   She has plenty of her own animals as subjects - cats, dogs, horses, chickens and even a parrot, as well as local farmers' cows. 

Mary belongs to a local art group where she exhibits in their very successful Summer exhibitions.  She has also sold her paintings at RHS Rosemoor, Torrington, and at the Burton Gallery in Bideford.
